AIRPLANE: from Huatulco airport
(45km) or Puerto Escondido (75km)
Various daily flight from Mexico City with Mexicana
de Aviacion (buying the ticket in advance you’ll find favourable
offer)
If you arrive in Huatulco, we don’t recommend
taking the airport taxi because expensive, it’s better to walk
out the airport (400 meters) and reach the federal highway, where
there are frequent private and collective taxis and micro buses going
to Pochutla* (private taxi charge is about 250-300 pesos, Usd 25,
and it’s better to bargain the price before the ride, the cost
of the other options are a lot more inexpensive).
If you arrive instead to Puerto Escondido, you can
take a collective taxi from the airport and get off at the bus terminal
direction Pochutla* or a private taxi directly to
Zipolite, always bargaining the price before.
Upon request we can do pick up and drop off service from and to the
airport - Villaescondida, just e-mail us the arrival
time.*Pochutla is the nearest town to Zipolite (15 km)
AUTOBUS: from Mexico City to Pochutla
Various daily runs from Mexico City “Terminal Sur”,
with Estrella Blanca (8 hours journey, via Acapulco)
or with the line Cristobal Colon (10 hours journey,
via Salina Cruz).
If you like to break the jouney, at half way there is the splendid
city of Oaxaca, from there you can reach Zipolite
with bus or what is called “suburban”, a confortable
ride with a modern van for the cost of around 120 pesos, Usd 10.
There are many daily runs with the companies Autoespress Atlantida
(calle Noria 101) or Eclipse (calle …..)
Arriving in Pochutla: autobus, mini bus and taxis do runs to Zipolite
all day long, and in Zipolite get off in the “colonia centro”
(the center of the village), besides the little church or the restaurant-disco
“Zipolipas” or contact the taxi to let you off directly
to “Villa Escondida” en La Loma del Centro (see map).
As further information, if you like you can reach quite confortably
other interesting areas of Mexico: Chiapas ( S.Cristobal de Las
Casas, Palenque) and Guatemala, from Pochutla directly.
